1 Corinthians

Paul exhorteth to unity — The low estate of those who are called.

He declareth that his preaching consisteth in the power of God — The spiritual man receiveth the things of God.

Strife and division reproved — Ministers are God’s fellow laborers –Christ the only foundation — The temples of God.

In what manner ministers ought to be accounted of — The saints, though reproached, should be examples to the world.

The adulterer to be cast out — Saints must shun bad company.

Saints should not go to law — The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God — Our bodies are the members of Christ, and temples of the Holy Ghost — They must not be defiled.

To abstain from meats offered to idols — Charity enjoined.

The minister to live by the gospel — The Christian race.

The cloud, the sea, the manna and the spiritual Rock — Israel’s punishment our warnings.

The woman subject to man; man subject to Christ; Christ subject to God — The sacrament treated of.

Spiritual gifts — Their object — The unity of the body of Christ, and the officers of the church.

Of faith, hope, perfection, and charity.

Edification, the object of spiritual gifts — Women are forbidden to rule in the church.

The resurrection.

Offerings solicited — Commendeth Timothy — Friendly admonitions.
